- Gordon bought the car new. He writes: “I set it up when I was at AUSCA with Horst Kwech and Ron Neal, mid and late 1960’s.” Kwech and Neal were known for their racing successes as proprieters of Australian CA racing, or AUSCA, which was located not in Australia, but Illinois.

- Under the hood of Jay’s ’66 is a 2L motor that looks as good as the rest of the car. His car has a hydraulic clutch, ATE brakes, “flying buttress” seats, and numerous other mods.

- The 1963 Spider of Jay Mackro has bored liners and 1750 pistons, giving it 1650cc; Webers with Weiand air filters (an appropriate speed shop addition for a SoCal hot rod); late model tranny; and more.

- Bob Hoye’s Spider has a 2L motor with 10.4:1 compression ratio, modified head with 7L cams and DCOE 45 Webers.
